ATC Work Smart has made a donation of $5000 to PCYC to keep the very successful Ice Breaker program running for the next couple of months. ATC General Manager Peter Adams said the money recently promised by the WA Labor party during the election campaign has not yet been provided and if the program stops running the opportunity to change lives will be lost.
The Ice Breakers Program developed by Albany local Margaret Gordon helps the user to navigate their way through their addiction by providing support and encouragement to take ownership of their addiction so that they can make effective choices about their future. The program provides tools for change and shows the user how to use the tools when they are tempted by high risk situations.
“The whole community including business is effected at some level by the use of illicit drugs and if our contribution can save a family from the destructive power of ice then it’s money well spent” Mr Adams said.
If you can donate to the program or are in need of assistance to break your addiction contact Terry Eaton at PCYC (08) 9842 1716
